Your data, plainly put.

What we collect, why, who sees it, and how to get rid of it — in language you should not need a lawyer to parse.

Read this first: this is a prototype.

Soda City Crush is currently an early build. Everything you enter is stored in your own browser using local storage — it is not uploaded to a server, and it is not encrypted. Anyone with access to your device and browser can read it. Do not enter a password you use anywhere else, and do not enter anything you would not want found on your laptop.

Where your data lives today

There is no backend yet. No account database, no cloud, no analytics vendor, no advertising network. Clearing your browser data deletes your account and everything in it, permanently and immediately, with no copy kept anywhere. That is a genuine privacy property, and it is also a genuine limitation: your profile does not follow you to another device or browser.

Photos you add are resized in the browser and stored in that same local storage. They are never uploaded.

Two external services do receive requests when you load a page: Google Fonts serves our typefaces, and placeholder profile photographs are fetched from image hosts. Those providers see your IP address as they would on any site that embeds them.

What we collect

We do not collect your contacts, your browsing on other sites, your precise GPS trail, or anything from your device you have not typed into the app.

Your Dating Fingerprint deserves its own section

The check-ins ask genuinely personal questions — what hurts, how you attach, what you need. That data is treated as the most sensitive thing in the product.

Private by default, revealed per section.

No part of your fingerprint appears on your profile unless you switch that specific section on. There is deliberately no single "share my fingerprint" toggle: you can reveal your Connection rhythm without revealing your Emotional triggers, because those are very different disclosures.

Your individual answers are never shown to anyone — only the summary scores for sections you have chosen to reveal. You can retake any check-in or delete it at any time, and deleting removes the answers as well as the scores.

These results are descriptive and non-clinical. They are not a diagnosis, not a psychological assessment, and not a prediction about any relationship.

Who can see what

Other membersYour display name, age, general area, photos, prompts, and only the fingerprint sections you have revealed.
Nobody elseWe do not sell data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not run third-party trackers.
Never shownYour email, password, date of birth, exact location, individual check-in answers, and anyone you have blocked.

Location

Location is coarse by design. We ask for a city or neighborhood, and if you use the "use my current location" button we resolve it to a general area only. We do not store precise coordinates, and we do not track your movements. Other members see a neighborhood and an approximate distance, never an address.

Your controls

When we add a real backend, this page will be rewritten before that launch, and we will tell you what changed rather than quietly updating a date at the top.
